The Packers Want An Answer From Aaron Rodgers By March 15th As GM Brian Gutekunst Is All Of A Sudden Uncommitted On Whether He Wants The Four-Time MVP Back Next Season

March arrives tomorrow and Aaron Rodgers has yet to give any indication with what he plans on doing during the 2023-2024 NFL season. Packers, Jets, Raiders, retirement, witchdoctor, Rogan co-host, cult leader, evil wizard? Every door is still wide open. The Packers front office remains in the same boat as the fans at home, which is currently in an ocean full of pitch-black darkness. 

The one thing we were promised when the Packers lost to the Lions in the final week of the regular season was that this would not get dragged out. 

Well, it's been almost two months and no one knows a thing. Packers GM Brian Gutekunst, the man who has previously been at the center of Rodgers' wrath, spoke to the media today and was asked about the situation. 

The response below on whether he wants 12 back is what's generating the most buzz today. 

On the surface that's gotta be the most non-committal the Packers front office has ever been publicly in regards to wanting Rodgers' services. That would line up with what Jeff Darlington said this morning. 

Now to be fair, a week ago Darlington said he had a trusted source in Green Bay claiming Rodgers would be back and that this was all overblown. While Jeff was all over the Tom Brady saga the last few years, there's reason to believe he's not as connected to the circus in Green Bay. Those two polar opposite reports lead you to believe he's out of the loop. It remains to be seen if any reporter out there has a true grip on what 12 is thinking, considering how tight Rodgers' inner circle is. 

So to play Devil's Advocate why would Gutekunst strategically answer the question that way? Well, trade leverage I suppose could be a factor. There's also the possibility of pissing off Jordan Love and/or Aaron, himself. I guess playing it like that is smart and the best road to go down to limit internal controversy. By doing that though you're allowing the rest of the NFL world to speculate and twist the narrative that Gute doesn't want him back. At the end of the day who cares what we think? If it means not fucking up the actual situation at hand then why's public perception matter? It doesn't. 

Right now it really seems like no one knows anything. Once again we're here with the NFL Draft fast approaching and have zero clue on the intentions of Rodgers. Time is just a fucking fat circle. God-willing we have a decision before free agency begins in two weeks. Please, please wrap this up by then. Whether it's Aaron staying or Love getting the keys, I just need to know. 

Has anyone thought to ask Mallory Edens? Forget Jeff Darlington, Rob Demovsky, or Adam Schefter. Edens might have the answers. I'd personally choose to believe anything she says.
